This YTX9 motorcycle battery is a Sealed AGM. This means it has been sealed and activated at the factory and arrives fully charged and ready to use. You will not have to mess with any acid as the battery is known as valve regulated lead acid, designed not to leak and capable of being placed into service on its side. Many of these Sealed AGM batteries have a Dry Charge AGM cousin for those that like to know their motorcycle battery is fresh and has not been left sitting on a shelf slowly discharging. Some may refer to the Yuasa YTX9 battery by the manufacturer stock code which is YUAM62R9B.
With few exceptions Yuasa Battery, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of most all power sport battery applications. In fact Honda has been using Yuasa's batteries since 1979 and other major bike and power sport manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Cannondale, Buell, and Polaris Victory, to name a few, have followed suit. This brand is used as the standard for which all other aftermarket replacement batteries must match. Some replacements may have higher CCA or AH while others may be slightly lower when comparing those specifications. All should match the dimensions closely and must match voltage and polarity exactly.
This battery is 12V and has 120 CCA and 8 AH. It comes with a full 12 Mo. replacement warranty. Yuasa batteries are made either in Taiwan or the United States. Currently the YTX9 is made in Taiwan.
